This post today is for my bookcrossing friends from "It's A Total Surprise" RABCK" hosted by nattabee.
Today I received a parcel. It was delivered to my doorstep. I was so excited as I had entered the "It's a Total Surprise" RABCK in bookcrossing and thought it would be ages before I received my parcel. Imagine my delight on opening it to find a bevy of gifts from "grovalskii", my bookcrossing partner in this RABCK.
It contained a book from my wishlist genre, "Billy Bathgate", a cute box of matches, a notebook and fridge magnet from "Berlin" and a lovely bookmark. There was also a Berlin postcard with scenes from there on it & a note from grovalskii written on the back. Thank you very much.

Today has been sooooo hot and humid.
This morning I received a surprise phone call from my sister-in-law in New York. My brother and her are visiting their daughter and son-in-law who have just had a baby girl. They named her Arabella, their first child.
It is quite cold in New York at present, -18deg C wind chill factor. However, they have managed to see all the usual touristy places despite the cold.
I am involved with 365 Project at present and am enjoying it very much. You take a photo every day of the year and post it on your calendar. It is wonderful to see everyone's beautiful photos.
This is one of the ones I took late this afternoon, just before a storm.
Well I'm off to bed now as it is getting late.

Well it's been some time since I've been in here and written anything.
This morning I received a surprise phone call from my brother and siser-in-law in New York. They are visiting their daughter who just had her first child, a daughter, Arabella Kristina.
A lovely name and beautiful photos too on facebook.
They were just about to celebrate their Australia Day with hamburgers and beers - good stuff. They are about 15 hours behind us.
The weather there is about 7 deg today, but the chill factor is much lower, as they have discovered when they have ventured out of their building.
We were there in 2006 and we loved it. There is so much to see and do in New York, I want to go back soon.
I've spent a bit of time on the computer today, doing a bit it of email housekeeping as one does.
It's a beautiful sunny day here - 32 deg C inside, don't want to know what it is outside.

A HGG from Wombles!

What a day! Mozette is over here to help me with a few things with Bookcrossing (as well as doing some BC things herself) and she has been kind enough to photograph my gift from Wombles. And just look at it; isn't it lovely? It does make you want to pick out one of those teas and settle down with the book and have a good read.

Thank you so much for your thoughtful gift and all the goodies that came with it. I have journaled the book and will have to most definitely find time to read it over the holiday period.

Warm Thanks to All My BookCrossing Friends

I've been a member of BookCrossing now since 2004, but not been an active one until the middle of 2009. This is why.
I have worked fulltime for quite a few years, but in April 2008, I had a serious hand operation that set me back a bit as it was my left hand, and I am left handed. I suffered depression and could not get interested in much at all as function since my operation has not returned fully.
My wonderful daughter, Mozette, had talked about my operation on BC and in response to that, I received thoughtful get well vibes and messages from you even though you did not know me. I was overwhelmed that you would do this for Mozette and me and I thank you all. It helped me so much.

Mozette organised a birthday surprise for me on BookCrossing, and what a surprise it was. So many generous and warm people became involved and sent me cards, and gifts. I thank you all.
With daily encouragement and help, I mean serious help from Mozette, here I am a TOTALLY committed BookCrosser.
I would sincerely like to thank everyone for making me feel welcome and for the cards, gifts, and books you have so generously sent to me this year.
I wish you and your families a blessed Christmas and a Prosperous New Year for 2010.
